A fusion of elements between my personal context and my dreams and desires, has been the focus of my art. Through reflection, it has been my background in floral design that has the greatest influence, as well as my desire to find inspiration in everything that I do, then pass this inspiration on to others. This hybridization of flora, design and art gives me an individual perspective and influences the way I experience life,and therefore my approach to art.
I aim to capture the beauty and inspiration in nature. The natural world is composed of a myriad of living patterns and the wildest varieties of colour. My abstracted representation of floral material capture another level of beauty from the origional image, through the use of digital media and hyper-real colours. This dynamic process masks the origin of the image through the new beauty and inspiration found. It is my aim that my artworks lure and capture our gaze only to release it for one to ponder. By looking at a flower in art and appreciating the naturalistic interpretation of an object with fleeting beauty, we ourselves have a fleeting moment to contemplate the inspiration in life. Meaningful experiences in the arts are treasured for their instinsic value. Art is not only a way of creating, is is a way of creating our lives by expanding our consciousness, shaping our dispositions, satisfying our quest for meaning, and extablishing contact with others by providing a deep source of enrichment for all of us.
To portray these patterns through art extends my relation out into the world more visibly, and beyond, to my customers. Through focusing on a particular element with in the image, the floral detail flourish through arts film of ambiguity, what resides is something upon which to muse.
This combination is perfect in this thoughtful industry designed to convey personal greetings and messages. Art provides a scent of promise, of life and colour and appeals to our senses, providing humility before the wonders of nature. It is my aim that my art is part of this reality. |
